I know this weather doesn’t make you want to get into the gym and everyone needs that bit of motivation this time of year. The last thing you want to be doing is venturing out into the cold and wet when you can be cosy and warm at home. Summer will be here before you know it. You don’t want to be caught out as it will sneak up on you very fast. You want to be confident enough to throw on that summer dress or shorts and feel amazing. So you need to start working on that summer body now.
Here are a few motivational tips to help you out.
1. Set a realistic goal.
If you set goals that are way out of your reach then when you don’t reach them you will only be disappointed and may even give up altogether. A realistic goal would be maybe lose 1lb per week, lose an inch off your waist, run 5k in a month. Once you reach your goal then set a new one.
2. Get some new gym gear.
This actually works believe it or not. Buying new gym wear that makes you feel great will make you feel motivated to get in the gym.
3. Take some pics
Everyone hates doing this. Especially your first pics when you feel awful and don’t like to look at yourself. It makes a massive difference. You won’t see yourself changing but when you compare pictures side by side you can see the progress. Take them monthly and remember only you needs to see them.
4. Get yourself a Personal Trainer.
Most people won’t go to the gym because they are afraid of looking stupid because they aren’t sure of what to do. A personal trainer will show you how to do things correctly and have a lot of knowledge and experience to share with you. I see a lot of ladies continuously doing cardio because they are afraid of learning something new. Having a good Personal Trainer will make positive changes to your health and physique.
5. Look for some insta inspo.
I know there are a lot of untrustworthy instagram accounts with majorly photoshopped bums and waists, but there are also some very inspirational and motivational accounts. These people show you how to make fitness fun and share their tips and how to live a healthy lifestyle. Here are a few of my favourites:
6. Get yourself a training partner
A training partner will help you to get into the gym if you are nervous. You can help eachother by encouraging each other to push harder. It can also make training a little more enjoyable and more of a social event then a chore.
7. Listen to some upbeat music.
Music will elevate your mood and make you want to move. Listening to a song that is upbeat makes you want to keep up with the pace.
8. Tell yourself “why” your doing this.
Think about the goal that you want to achieve. The body you want. The health benefits you want. Are you going on holiday and want feel confident in that gorgeous new bikini? Confidence makes a big difference to your life so keep pushing and results will come.
